A portrait of Bonnie Choi

Bonnie Choi, Ph.D., brings over 15 years of experience in life sciences. Leveraging her scientific expertise, Bonnie advises clients on a wide range of intellectual property matters, with a focus on small molecules, antibody-drug conjugates, peptides, polymers, drug discovery platforms, drug formulations, nutraceuticals, and materials science. She counsels clients ranging from early-stage startups to commercial-stage companies, supporting all stages of product development, from initial conception to post-FDA approval of drugs and biologics.

Bonnie has a broad research background across multiple chemical disciplines, including synthesis of drug molecules, X-ray crystallography, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, surface chemistry, and nanomaterials. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Columbia University as a National Science Foundation (NSF) Predoctoral Fellow. Her doctoral research focused on the synthesis of hybrid organic-inorganic materials and the investigation of their catalytic, electronic, and magnetic properties. She has authored 18 publications in peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of the American Chemical Society, Nano Letters, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Nature Nanotechnology, Inorganic Chemistry, and Chemical Science.

Outside of work, Bonnie enjoys spending time with her family in the Boston area. She loves walking the sandy beaches of Cape Cod with her husband, daughter, and two doodles who enthusiastically lead the way. She is a longtime tennis fan and enjoys attending tournaments like the US Open and Indian Wells. Bonnie also likes baking desserts with her daughter (while the dogs stay close, just in case anything drops).
