Jennifer Floyd

Jennifer Floyd, Ph.D., brings nearly 30 years of expertise in life sciences. With her wealth of expertise, Jennifer helps clients build worldwide patent portfolios with a focus on cell therapies, gene therapy, antibody therapeutics, nucleic acid sequencing methods, and in vitro diagnostics for early and growth stage companies.

Jennifer has research experience across a broad range of disciplines in the life sciences, including genetics and molecular biology, cell biology, DNA sequencing, and immunology. She earned her Ph.D. at U.C. San Diego where she focused on positional cloning of a modifier gene involved in RNA splicing and transport using in vivo and cell based assays. As a postdoctoral fellow, she worked on the identification of novel regulators of Toll-like receptor signaling. She also worked as a database curator for the Immune Epiotpe Database curating primary literature relating to immune epitopes in the areas of infectious disease and autoimmune disease. She authored publications in peer-reviewed journals including Nature Genetics and Neuron.

When she is not at work, Jennifer spends time with her family in San Diego, taking long walks around the neighborhood with her spouse, son, and their standard poodle. She also enjoys cycling - riding her own bicycle as well as watching the pros race on television. After completing graduate school, Jennifer rode her bicycle in Australia from Sydney to Brisbane.
