Sabrina Poulos

Sabrina Poulos brings 25 years of experience in life sciences. Sabrina works closely with her clients to strategically build and manage IP portfolios that align with their business goals. She has counseled emerging and growth-stage companies focused on small molecules, antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates, RNA-based therapeutics, gene therapies, gene editing therapeutics, oncolytic viruses, peptide-based therapies, epigenetics, and cell-based agriculture. Sabrina also works closely with investors to spin out new companies and diligence companies in advance of investment. Sabrina was named a finalist for “Patent Strategy Attorney of the Year (California)” for the LMG Life Sciences 2024 Americas Awards.
Before becoming a lawyer, Sabrina worked for several years as a research associate at a Houston biotech company, engineering expression constructs to generate highly specific knock-out mice. She gained experience in gene trapping and homologous recombination technologies, including fundamental molecular biology techniques such as PCR, sequencing, radiolabeling, and BLAST analysis. A graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her bachelor’s degree, Sabrina earned her law degree on the west coast at University of San Diego School of Law. Sabrina is admitted to practice law in California and Texas and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Based in San Francisco, Sabrina has three dogs, none of whom are particularly well-behaved. Though a lapsed equestrian, she currently owns one retired horse living his best life on Kentucky blue grass, a one-eyed pony with attitude, and four hunter/jumper show horses. Sabrina also gardens and has been the owner of many plants that did not try hard enough. With her niece as her first client, she is exploring a career as a baby stylist.
